THE POLICE FOUNDER STEWART COPELAND WILL ROCK FANTASY SPRINGS WITH A FULL ORCHESTRA PERFORMING THE LEGENDARY BAND’S ICONIC HIT SONGS ON MARCH 25, 2023

DEC. 14, 2022 – INDIO, CA –  Stewart Copeland’s ‘Police Deranged for Orchestra’ is a high energy orchestral evening bursting with The Police’s music and biggest hits such as, “Roxanne,” “Don’t Stand So Close To Me,” and “Message In A Bottle.”  The show focuses on the epic rise of Copeland’s career in music that has spanned over four decades.

Copeland, who founded The Police in the 1970s, will bring the acclaimed concert to the Special Events Center at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show start at $49 and go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 16 at the Fantasy Springs Box office, via phone (800) 827-2946, or online at www.FantasySpringsResort.com.

The show will feature Copeland on drums along with three singers, guitarist  Carl Verheyen (SuperTramp), bassist Armand Sabal-Leco (Paul Simon), and Edwin Outwater leading the orchestra in this amazing concert experience.

The legendary drummer has spent more than three decades at the forefront of contemporary music as a rock star and acclaimed film composer, as well as in the disparate worlds of opera, ballet, and world and chamber music.

Recruiting Sting and Andy Summers in 1977, Copeland is renowned as the founder of The Police, a band that became a defining force in rock music from the ‘80s through to the present day. His career includes the sale of more than 60 million records worldwide, and numerous awards, including five Grammy awards.

In 2021, Copeland created the new project, “Stewart Copeland: The Police Deranged for Orchestra.”

“I had to carve up the music to serve the scenes in the movie, and once the scalpel was out, a whole new frenzy of inspiration from Police music began,” Copeland said. “Delving into the multi-tracks of the original recordings as well as live performances revealed lost guitar solos, bass lines and vocal improvisations that were just too cool to leave in dark obscurity.”

Copeland added, “Meanwhile, my two decades before the mast as a hired-gun film composer had forced an education in orchestration upon me, and the idea formed to make this combination.”

Through the years Copeland has created and performed numerous operas in addition to scoring movies such as “Wall Street,” “Rumble Fish,” and “Four Days in September,” in addition to multiple television shows.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show start at $49 and go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 16 at the Fantasy Springs Box office, via phone (800) 827-2946, or online at www.FantasySpringsResort.com.
