POPULAR BAND STEEL ROD TURNS TWELVE AT FANTASY SPRINGS INTO AFTER HOURS MUSIC HAVEN, KICKS OFF RESIDENCY ON DEC. 3.
Dec. 1, 2021 – INDIO, CA – Multi-faceted and wildly talented band Steel Rod will transform twelve at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino into a swanky night club where guests can take in spectacular views while enjoying stellar music and cocktails late into the night. Steel Rod After Dark performances are free and will take place every Friday and Saturday from 10:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The band’s residency takes flight on Friday, Dec. 3.
Mark Gregg Acoustic and Unplugged will get the evening started from 7 to 10 p.m, prior to Steel Rod taking the stage for a full night of music.
Steel Rod, a trio who all sing, features Whit Petrell on bass, guitarist Rod Pantoja and Johnny Reyes on drums, has been drawing huge crowds to their shows at The Rock Yard and Lit Lounge at Fantasy Springs for several years.
In addition to their incredible musicianship, what makes this group so dynamic is their massive catalog of songs which spans many genres from Marvin Gaye to Metallica and everything in between. They also have a captivating stage presence and uncanny ability to read the crowd and play songs that fit the room perfectly.
“Our skills at not only reading the crowd, but interacting with everyone and making the audience a part of the show is the true beauty of a Steel Rod performance,” Petrell said. “We may start with an R&B song and then flip the script to a Creedence Clearwater Revival tune or a power ballad. We really are a one-stop shop band.”
Steel Rod has been together for over two decades, performing in a wide variety of venues including clubs, restaurants, on cruise ships and USO Tours.
“The shows on twelve are going to be an amazing hybrid of acoustic and electric performances,” Petrell said. “The venue is much more intimate than The Rock Yard or Lit Lounge, so visually we will be stripped down a bit, but will still deliver the power of a killer show.”
